The Generator Map provides an interactive visual representation of energy generation sites throughout the Yorkshire & Humber region. The Generator Map was developed by SASDATA.co.uk for Biomass Energy Yorkshire.
The Generator Map has two methods of use, the simple option is to display all known generator sites on the map, but the advanced method allows the user to filter the display to show only generators that match their criteria.
When a search is submitted the results are plotted using the Google Maps API. Clicking on a pin-point displays a summary of information about the site with a link to even more information in the form of a pop-up window.
In the background the Generator Map is logging the number and type of searches submitted which can be seen through the administration section.
The data held within the generator map’s database is actually shared between pages on FEY’s site and their sister site Biomass Energy Yorkshire. Both sites have different interfaces.
