Resolving duplication in a database is a complex task and not one that should be taken on lightly. Drawing on our ten years of experience in managing and cleansing client databases S & S Data Ltd has developed advanced de-duplication routines that can be applied to any database containing customer and contact records.
These routines search out groups of records that are possibly involved in duplication, ranking them from confident to potential, but there is only so much that automated checking can accomplish, accurate duplicate resolution requires human intervention. Though checking of linked data items such as action entries, linked documents etc, S & S Data Ltd can ascertain in most cases where appropriate which record from a group of possible duplicates should be made the master record and which records should be merged into it without requiring input from client staff.
When firm duplicate groups have been identified, S & S Data Ltd can merge these records together with respect for the distinct data items that make up the record. For example, each record in the group may have additional contacts linked to it. Often merging routines built into CRMs take no account of duplicates across these entries when merging records which lead to duplicate contact entries within the destination record. S & S Data Ltd’s merging procedures ensure that record merging is conducted so as not to create further duplicates within the destination record.
